The major components are as
follows:
J-can
- provides connection of all control signals and power connections between
surface console and ROV. It splits the lines as necessary and directs them to
the appropriate components. The J-can also holds the sub sea step-down power
transformers.
Fiber
optic Can - attached to the J-can, it holds the fiber optic transmitters for
video and telemetry signals.
Control
Can - contains STD bus sub sea computer chassis. All control signals are
processed through this can.
Power
Can - contains rectifiers, capacitors, relays and dc power supplies for
vehicle components.
Electric
Thrusters - one vertical and four horizontal thrusters.
Flotation Module - provides payload buoyancy.
